Mother Medea or Surrender
Instead of making art as destructive as Medea’s savage act, the series “Mother Medea” culminates into the end piece “Surrender”. This work highlights Hope, Love and Compassion.

The Art Works
The cruel, yet tantalizing paintings illustrate the internal and external battle of a woman, a wife and, above all, a mother, Mother Medea. The series with works in oil and the ceramic sculptures are expressions of my interpretation of such agonizing and disturbing emotions.
First Act or prior to the killing of the children: illustration of the anguish and the sorrow of a troubled person:
Medea #1 or Mother is going / Medea #2 or Fragment / Scattered / Insomnia / Icarus falling / Silent Scream / Spilled Milk / It Once Bloomed
Second Act or the raw illustration of the atrocity and the agony of the horrifying act of killing:
I wash my hand in innocence / RIP / Slaughter bench / Trauma / Witness

Final Act or Apotheosis of the series “Mother Medea”: Surrender
The Body or the Christ:
Painting a cross is not about "You’ll be nailed on the cross of my revenge". Instead, aren’t we all like Jesus, by moments suffering on a cross, our own personal cross, trying to deal with mundane troubles, disturbing feelings or any kind of unfulfilled physical lust, material desire and the desire for power and control?
The Girl meditating represents our Mind:
Through meditation we can bring Awareness in the thought patterns of our mind. Awareness might lead us to understanding and compassion.
The Raven:
In old European cultures this intelligent bird is considered as a Messenger of the Other Side. This Spirit Guide transforms Darkness into Light to remind us we all are manifestation of the Light.
The Rainbow symbolises transformation and hope for a new beginning.
nstead of making art as destructive as Medea’s savage act, the series “Mother Medea” culminates into the end piece “Surrender”. The apotheosis of this series of work sublimates a state of distress into Hope, Love and Compassion. Through Awareness to Surrender.
